Rhino: Thesis: Final Project Proposal
Landmarks and historic sites throughout the city have become cliché and kitschy, overlooked and then delegated to the realm of tourism. The people, who work and live in the city, are in turn, disassociated from these spaces because they do not engage these sites in their everyday activities. By focusing on one of these detached environments, this thesis will respond to issues of memory, perception and the potential for the human activity of indigenous cultures to inspire new and vibrant relationships within these neglected spaces of the city. A series of installations will be developed that link and connect the tourist aspect of these environments with the everyday activities of the cities inhabitants.
For my proposal I will develop a site model diagram that shows how the different nodes of the city connect to one another along the Freedom Trail. This will help influence my design for my thesis.

Rhino: Model: Stair
sliding planes intersect to create stairway path
stair expansion can double as stadium seating

Multi-person/ multi-use bench:
for lounging, sitting, and reclining

"Marshmallow Chair"

Read directions one by one following each rule as you go.
1. Choose one piece of string; tie end to any nail.
2. Choose a nail non-adjacent to current wrapped nail.
*(non-adjacent= nail must be greater than or equal to 2 nails away in all directions from current wrapped nail).
3. Keeping the string taut, wrap a point on the string once around any height on the chosen nail.
4. Repeat steps (2-3) choosing a new nail and a new height, wrapping until approximately one-inch remains on string.
*(new nail/height= any nail/height that is different from the previous nail/height)
5. Tie one-inch end of string off around final nail.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 if time remains with new string.

CDAP: Tower Design Through Grasshopper Scripting: Bubble Tower: Part I
Iteration one of "Bubble Tower"
Above: 'Roof Plan' of "Bubble" Tower

Above: Side view of "Bubble" Tower

Above: Axon of "Bubble" Tower
Iteration two: Created by moving the sliders of Sphere Radius size, Sphere Rotation Angle, Divide Space between the "Bubbles", and the Height of the Central Axis.

CDAP: Tower Design Through Grasshopper Scripting
I began working within Grasshopper by looking on-line for a tutorial on how to develop a simple twisted tower design. I found one here: Twisting Tower.

I learned how to create parameters than can fluctuate to change the height, shape radius, twist factor, and polygon type. From this I tried to evolve these concepts into my idea.

I want to create a series of "bubbles" that cluster together to create a tower form. Each "bubble" will represent a different program function or inhabitable space. Where the "bubbles" intersect is where utilities can be stored and accessed to service the individual "bubbles" on each floor. I was thinking that this could possibly be a form in which rainwater could be harvested and stored to service each "bubble apartment
